Over the years DA Siena teachers have developed an original method for teaching L2 Italian – consistent with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – that is based on a multisyllabic approach aiming to cover every aspect of language education.
Students have to experience language through the analysis of real communicative situations that allow to develop inductively the various aspects of communicative competence.
The primary objective is to show to the student a path that promotes reflection and self correction of the language structures that have been learnt spontaneously through the communicative situations proposed.
The teacher faces therefore the necessity of re-defining his\her role by putting learners into contact with real-life language through the use of current and authentic didactic material, thus facilitating the interactions between the students and the Italian culture.
